I had finally succeeded in getting Val and Crawford to come around for dinner. It had been months since I first brought up the idea and they had always been busy; at least, that was what they said. Having cleared the house and having made sure that everything was in tip top condition, I checked my reflection in the mirror one last time before the bell rang. They were here.
I glanced across the room to ensure Keith's tank was covered properly and then unlocked the door. Val and Crawford looked reluctant to come in but I was so pleased to see them. Val was in the same top she wore for christmas two years ago and Crawford looked as scrawny as ever. I, on the other hand, was in my new Louis Vuitton dress looking fabulous as usual. I beckoned them to sit down and got Crawford his Jack Daniels after he finally got the hint that he had no choice. Evidently, there was no need for me to have a go at Val. The woman knew me too well. Gosh, the promotion got me in such a good mood. heeeee. my first english coursework assignment. writing a story from another person's point of view. yadiyada. ok so.... First thing's first. I SURVIVED!
lol. oh well... :S it was weird and surreal. aunty minah walked me to school and we met claire and annwyn at the side gate. (hana's friends) hana was not well enough for school. boo. found out my form room, got introduced to anna and emma and headed for morning registration with em. gosh. i was so out of place. haha. i was the first one to get an assignment (yay me) . had to draw out my own time table.. zzz. haha. apparently i've not been registered yet so while all the other kids were busy comparing their free periods and full days, i was drawing out box by box. hahaa... had assembly after about 2hrs of doing nothing. ms gannon (head of 6th form) introduced me and this other girl to the 6th form. lame. haha. ok. i super duper need to cut this real short or else i'll go on forever. basically, i LOVE maths. i'm the freaky maths girl prolly. haahaaa. props to A maths la. so even after 10 months or possibly more, of not touching algebra, i'm still on track. and goshhhhhhh, the teacher gave me extra questions to do cos he was afraid i would get bored while waiting for the others to finish.wth... and he also said this. "we'll get to some questions that you can't solve, i promise" hahahaha... it's all good. =) literature's kinda kewl cos there's like 10 peeps in the class and we read othello out loud and discuss scene by scene for coursework. we're reading wise children for main or whatever they call em. hope british history or whatever they've learnt in GCSEs does not come in the way of me scoring in this subject...... so far it's been a bit of a worry. :S english language's fun. this guy was kinda nice to me cos he was friendly. he asked me what school i was previously from, falibroom or sth else and i was like. eh. coral secondary. he was like. heh? haahaa... i told him singapore and he went bonkers. thought i was crazy for coming to tythy. oh well, cant change it now can i? gotta prepare myself for some serious essay and commentary writing for english coursework. i was thinking of using the cinderella stories cos i think i can work at that :) need to ask my girls for their opinion. hee. psychology's been a bit of a bore cos miss davies started off with research methods and i'm ALMOST dozing off in classes. i dnt like where i'm sitting cos basically it's just me and this other guy on a huge table at the other ends while the rest were like abt 5-7 to a table. pfft. we're gonna start on social psychology tomorrow so that should be good. :) went for a music enrichment meeting at lunch today. YESSSAAA!!! haahaaa.. finally. concert band, jazz band and steel band. bring it on! well, i sort of mean bring it on as in, let me just meddle wit the drums and all not TEACH THE STEEL BAND!!!! eeeeeeek. annwynnnnnnnnn... she soooo got me into this. well yeah, i've held sectionals with juniors, not that it was any good, but i can't just come into a new country and lead them!!! can i? yikes. the teachers think i'm some awesome drummer. dude. i'm only a mediocre percussionist with no qualifications whatsoever. GOSHHHHH. help help help! oh well. nothing has happened YET. hmm..... random- on the third day of school as i was walking home, i passed by a chinese restaurant that my aunt took me to weeks before school started. the manager was wiping the door, preparing for business and we recognised each other. he sort of gave me a quick smile and a nod and i waved my snickers bar at him. haha. and then. sheesh. reality stumped me. where was i? and how come i knew the way home in this whole new world? FREAKY. new life la sey. (i will never give up singlish. it's part of my dialect and i'm proud of it. hahaaaa.) trying to talk more in school but the accent really stands in the way. and i can't get rid of my darling dialect. singlish minglish. hahaaa.. i can understand them. THEY can't understand me. haha. for example, i spelled out my name to the i.t. person for my computer logon id today. guess what he got. DEYENE. go figure. ya. thanks. aaahaaa... i say band, ppl think i'm saying bend.. but it's all getting better. i hope? haha. planning to do spanish and art for enrichment. =) kewlll... friday was one of the coolest days of my life. i went to playback theatre with lynn and aunty minah. hana was still not well enough to go out. it was at the union chapel in manchester. more about this in my next post or else this post will be much too long like it's not already long enough. heh. okie dokes. promised aunty minah i'll go to bed soon so yes. tata!!!! p.s: get well soon hana. life, get well soon too. cheers. -dyna 7:32 PM |
